a lot of 25 promo matchbooks (in the original mailing box that measures 2" x 2" x 7") from David O. Selznick's Duel in the Sun, the 1947 King Vidor epic cowboy western ("Savagery! Spectacle! Fury! With added scope of wide screen!"; "David O. Selznick's Greatest Technicolor Triumph!") starring Jennifer Jones (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Gregory Peck, Joseph Cotten, Lionel Barrymore, Herbert Marshall, Lillian Gish (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Walter Huston, Charles Bickford, Butterfly McQueen "with a cast of 2500", Sidney Blackmer, Tilly Losch, Griff Barnett, Harry Carey Sr, Otto Kruger, Lane Chandler, Lloyd Shaw, Thomas Dillon, Joan Tetzel, Robert McKenzie, and Charles Dingle.

This is an unused box of 25 of these matchbooks. We feel certain they have eroded over age and likely couldn't possibly be used in the purpose originally intended, but otherwise, they are in nice condition! We have pictured the front and back of one matchbook, and three images of the box (see our images).
