An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 29 3/4" x 41") (Learn More)

Laughing Gas, the 1907 Edwin S. Porter silent comedy short (about a woman who goes to the dentist, and she's given gas; on the way home, she can't stop laughing on the subway, and her laughter is contagious!) starring Edward Boulden, Mr. La Montte, Bertha Regustus, and Mr. Sullivan

Important Added Info: Note that this is the earliest dated U.S. one-sheet FOR A SPECIFIC MOVIE that I have ever seen (from a regular studio, in this case by Vitagraph; I have seen one-sheet posters from Barnsdale that were dated earlier, but he printed his own posters)! Also note that this one-sheet measures 29 3/4" x 41". Please do not bid on this poster thinking it is 27" x 41".

Condition: good to very good. The poster had paper loss at the top crossfold and creases, small tears, and some tiny paper loss down the vertical foldline. There was tiny paper loss in the upper left blank border, and two small areas in the right of the bottom blank border, and some creases and tears around the edges of the poster. There were some black stain marks in the "NG" of "LAUGHING" in the title. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but the restorer pretty much just backed it "as is", without restoring the above basically minor defects. Note that the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster.
