An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Hungarian Movie Poster (measures 37 1/2" x 49 1/2" [95 x 126 cm]) (Learn More)

Der Unuberwindliche (literally translates to "The Insurmountable"), the 1928 Max Obal German silent circus acrobat action crime adventure romantic melodrama (about a famous circus acrobat who gets involved in a jewelry robbery where he must use his acrobatic skills to climb the walls of buildings, and to give him the perfect cover, the robbery is scheduled on his wedding day!) starring Luciano Albertini (an Italian actor, likely hired for his acrobatic ability), Hilda Rosch, Paul Henckels, Vivian Gibson, and Hermann Picha. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows if this is true, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this poster! Also note that this is an extremely rare pre-World War II Hungarian poster! Virtually no Hungarian posters survive from before, during, or right after World War II. Apparently there were many paper shortages in Hungary during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all pre-World War II posters!

Condition: very good. The poster has some spotty slight discoloration around the edges (mostly only noticeable in the blank borders and on back). It has a small amount of pen writing on back at right that slightly bleeds through to the front but it not very noticeable or distracting. There is a label on back at center but it is not visible on front. Otherwise, as can be seen in our image, the poster is in about as nice a condition as one could expect for an ultra rare pre-World War II poster!
