An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Believe Me, Xantippe, the 1918 Donald Crisp silent romantic crime screwball comedy ("By Frederick Ballard"; a wacky story of a rich young man who bets his friends $20,000 he can commit a crime and not be arrested for a full year; he forges a check and then heads west, and the law is pursuing him, but he evades them successfully, but on the last day of the year, a sheriff's daughter discovers his identity and "arrests" him, but because she is not a true law officer, he wins his bet, and he wins the girl too!) starring Wallace Reid, Ann Little, Ernest Joy, Henry Woodward, Noah Beery Sr., and James Cruze. Note that the movie has this unusual name, because the lead character keeps saying it to many people throughout! We were unable to discover why this is. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good to fine.
