An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Convict 13, the 1920 Edward F. Cline & Buster Keaton silent golf mistaken identity crime prison slapstick comedy short (about a would-be professional golfer who gets in the way of an escaping convict, and the convict knocks him out and changes clothes with him, so, of course, the police take him to prison thinking he is the escaped convict!) starring Buster Keaton, Sybil Seely, Joe Roberts, Edward F. Cline, and Joe Keaton (Buster Keaton's father). Note that this is one of the few early movies with significant golf scenes (it does not make for much drama in a fictional movie), and Buster Keaton created really wild comedic ones that occupied the first section of the movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this movie until we received this lobby card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Also note that this lobby card has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the lobby card was backed onto a very light paper backing (acid-free), that keeps the "feel" of the lobby card similar to that of the original lobby card. Some restorers prefer to paperback lobby cards on to a heavy backing, while others prefer to use a very lightweight backing. The advantage of a lightweight backing is that the card still "feels" like a regular lobby card, but a heavier backing makes restoration easier to do and less noticeable. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the card had darkened somewhat, and it was folded down the middle. There was some tiny paper loss on that fold, with paper loss in the center of the top blank border and a lesser amount of paper loss in the left of the top blank border, with a diagonal tear in the top left corner. Overall, the lobby card was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
