La Rosa Blanca (released in English-speaking countries as "The White Rose"), the 1955 Emilio Fernandez Mexican/Cuban historical political biographical melodrama (about the life of Cuban poet Jose Marti) starring Roberto Canedo (as Jose Marti), Gina Cabrera, Julio Capote, Dalia Iniguez, and Julio Villarreal. Note that Jose Marti is best known in the United States for having written the poem "Guantanamera", which was memorably adapted into a folk song and sung frequently by Pete Seeger and The Weavers.
