An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Joanna, the 1925 Edwin Carewe silent jazz-age romantic love triangle flapper girl rich-girl-poor-boy melodrama (based on the story, "Joanna, of the Skirts Too Short and the Lips Too Red and the Tongue Too Pert", by Henry Leyford Gates; "a picturization of the newspaper serial by H.L. Gates"; "she's a million dollar girl"; about a beautiful woman who is also a millionaire, and to the amazement and disgust of everyone, she falls in love with a man with no money and not much going for him, but her loving him gets other beautiful women interested in him too!) starring Dorothy Mackaill (in the title role as Joanna), Jack Mulhall, Paul Nicholson, George Fawcett, and Dolores Del Rio. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the slide has two large cracks near the center running down the length of the slide, slightly diagonally. There are several small pieces of brown paper on the front and back of the slide which were put there to hold the cracked area together. Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: good. This glass slide has clear condition problems that causes it to be in less than "very good" condition. We do NOT describe those defects in words (UNLESS the defect is a crack in one or both panes of the slide, in which case we ALWAYS describe it elsewhere within the auction in words), and you can likely see some or all of them in the "large" and "super-sized" images we provide. If you are the sort who can accept a major defect, then you should bid on items in this condition grade, BUT PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THESE ITEMS UNLESS YOU CAN ACCEPT THEIR VERY CLEAR DEFECTS!
