Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was tri-folded. It had a 6" vertical tear in the left of the upper fold, starting in the extreme left of Hepburn's hat, and running down near the bottom of the background area. There was a 1 1/2" tear in the left of her lips and a 1 1/2" tear at the right end of her lips, going up to the bottom of her nose. There was tiny paper loss in the top center of her dress in the main image. There was a second horizontal fold along the bottom third of the poster, with a 1" tear near the middle of it, in the black background. There were some light creases scattered throughout the poster. There was a 3" tear near the middle of the left border, with two 1 1/2" tears above it. There was tiny paper loss in the bottom of the left border. There was some marker writing on the back of the center of the poster, but it was on the back of the solid black area, and it did not show through to the front at all. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. I went into extreme detail about all of the defects that were restored, because this is an extremely rare and desirable poster. But a very talented restorer backed it, and not only did they do a great job, but the poster also does not have a "heavily restored" look at all. You primarily only see the defects in the lower left and right of the pink background, and even then, they are not very distracting at all. I think the new owner of this poster will be very happy to display it on their wall. One could wish to find a better condition example, but we have never seen ANY other example of it!
