An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Safe at Home!, the 1962 Walter Doniger New York Yankees baseball sports family comedy ("A Grand Slam"; "Fun and laughter with the greatest guys in baseball... And the luckiest kid in the world!"; "Fun and laughter with the idols of millions and the luckiest kid in the world!"; "Based on a story by Tom Naud and Steve Ritch"; about a little boy who lies about knowing famous New York Yankees baseball players and who then is not bailed out by the players when they refuse to back him in his lie, but they go ahead and invite his entire little league team to come visit them; one of the more implausible plots of all time!) starring Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, William Frawley, Patricia Barry, Don Collier, and Bryan Russell (billed as "the Luckiest Kid in the World"). Note that the main draw of this movie was that the great Yankee baseball players played themselves in this movie, but their acting skills were not the equal of their baseball skills! Also note that Bryan Russell may have been "the Luckiest Kid in the World", but that didn't extend past this movie, because aside from a few minor appearances, he did not have much of a career in film (although his sister played Margaret on the Dennis the Menace TV show)! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this three-sheet, and only one in the last 28 years! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny creases, scuffs, and a few tiny bits of paper loss on small parts of some folds. It had a Canadian censor stamp at lower left. It had some pinholes and stains around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, and the restorer left alone the censor stamp at lower left.
