Le capitaine Fracasse (released in some English-speaking countries as "Captain Fracasse"), the 1943 Abel Gance French/Italian swashbuckler romantic adventure melodrama starring Fernand Gravey, Assia Noris, Jean Weber, Roland Toutain, and Lucien Nat. Note that Abel Gance had made the epic movie "Napoleon" in 1927, but by the time of this movie, he no longer could get the budget required to make this movie on the scale it deserved. Many of the sets are miniatures, and the movie has its moments, but it is far from Gance's best.
