Date Sold 10/1/2009Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 4 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) I Believed in You, the 1934 Irving Cummings romantic love triangle meaning-of-life melodrama (a really thought provoking story of a young woman who marries a union organizer, but not a noble one; she moves with him to New York City where his friends start sponging off of her; she meets a rich man who she argues with, saying that the sponging friends are no good because they "never had a chance", so the rich man offers to give them each enough money to live on for six months, and he bets her that none of them will make good at all, but that if even one does, he will owe her considerably, but if none do, she will owe him; in fact, none do anything positive, and they all ask her for more money at the end of the six months, at which point, she kicks them all out, including her no good husband, and she writes a book about the experience called "I Believed in You", and sells it to a publisher and offers the royalty payment to the rich man as a down payment on her debt for the lost bet; he tells her he loves her and that he wants to marry her, but she says that she needs to be alone for a while, to "figure things out"!) starring Rosemary Ames, Victor Jory, John Boles, Gertrude Michael, and George Meeker NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
