An Original Vintage 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Still (Learn More) H.G. Wells was an English author from the 1890s until his passing in 1946. He is best remembered for his science fiction novels and is often called the father of science fiction. Some of his works include: The War of the Worlds, The Time Machine, The Invisible Man, and The Island of Doctor Moreau AND Douglas Fairbanks Jr. was a major leading actor from the 1910s to the 1980s. He was the son of famous silent star Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. Some of his movies include: The Prisoner of Zenda, Gunga Din, Parachute Jumper, Little Caesar, and A Woman of Affairs. He had a four year marriage to Joan Crawford between 1929 and 1933. Important Added Info: Note that this great candid still shows legendary author H.G. Wells posing with Douglas Fairbanks Jr., on the set of Catherine the Great, which Fairbanks was filming (and he is in his costume). Condition: good. There are faint creases, scuffs, and smudges scattered throughout the still, but they are mostly only noticeable when the still is tilted to the light. The still was surely used in a newspaper or magazine, and there is a faint rectangular box marked around Wells' head and shoulders, when they only used that portion of the image.
