An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

The Thirty-Nine Steps, the classic 1935 Alfred Hitchcock English London romantic kidnapping murder mystery espionage spy crime thriller ("Handcuffed to the girl who double-crossed him"; "The 'Monte Cristo' hero.. The Man who put the Man in roMANce"; "Directed by Alfred Hitchcock Director of 'The Man Who Knew Too Much"; "A hundred steps ahead of any picture this year"; from the novel by John Buchan; perhaps Alfred Hitchcock's best movie ever; there are too many wonderful plot twists and clever moments to describe here, but everyone should see this excellent movie!) starring Robert Donat, Madeleine Carroll, Lucie Mannheim, Godfrey Tearle, and Peggy Ashcroft

Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this 1935 first release title card from this classic Alfred Hitchcock movie! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. There are many tiny brown dot stains scattered down the left 2" of the card, and a very few scattered in the rest of the card. There is a faint smudge in the center of the card, extending into the top edge of the "THE" of the title. There are pinholes and tiny creases in the corners, with some faint smudges and scuffs scattered around the edges. Note that this card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back. We would think many collectors could happily display this incredibly rare card as it is, and it would also be a pretty simple restoration for any talented restorer, if the new owner preferred that. Either way, the new owner will have a wonderful card to display on their wall!
