An Original Vintage German Film Program (measures 8" x 9" [20 x 23 cm]; 6 pages) (Learn More) Olympia 1. Teil - Fest der Volker (released in the U.S. as "The Olympiad"), the 1938 Leni Riefenstahl (movie actress who became a director for Hitler and made "Triumph of the Will" and this film) German Olympic sports documentary featuring documentary footage of the Olympic events, which included the top athletes from Germany, but also from the other competing countries, including the black athletes from the U.S., most notably Jesse Owens and Ralph Metcalfe. Adolf Hitler appears in the movie, and there are additional sequences of athletes performing (some in the nude), which were filmed especially for this movie. Note that this documentary on the 1936 Berlin Olympics was so massive that it was released in two parts (the first part was "Olympia Part I: Festival of the Nations", and the second part was "Olympia Part II: Festival of Beauty"; so technically this movie should be referred to as "Festival of the Nations", but because most people know it under the title of "Olympia" or "Olympiad", we refer to it in that way). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" item for this German movie! Note that this program was published by Das Programm von Heute, a different type of program that is far more rare than the regularly seen German programs. The program has six pages, but it is printed on a large single sheet that is tri-folded (we have photographed both sides of the program completely unfolded). Condition: good to very good. The program was separating at the spine of the cover and someone put tape on the bottom half of the interior of that page. The tape has yellowed, but the yellowing does not show through to the front (see our images). There are four small diagonal razor cuts in the front cover. This is NOT a defect, because these programs were distributed with "Ross autograph cards", which would be inserted into the slits, and then given out at showings where that star appeared in person, and the attendees could try to get that star's autograph on the card. This program does NOT have a Ross autograph card (see our image). Learn More about condition grades
