An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Two-Panel (known in Italy as a "4 Fogli") Movie Poster (2p; measures 55" x 78" [140 x 198 cm]) (Learn More) La Forza del Destino (literally translates to "The Force of Destiny"), the 1950 (released in the U.S. in 1952) Carmine Gallone Italian romantic musical melodrama (based on the libretto by Francesco Maria Piave) starring Nelly Corradi, Tito Gobbi, Gino Sinimberghi, Giulio Neri, Vito de Taranto, John Kitzmiller, and Caterina Mancini. Note that John Kitzmiller was a black African American who served in Italy in World War II, and he decided to stay there after the war, and he appeared in around 50 Italian movies!. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Averardo Ciriello Important Added Info: Note that Italian posters from the first few years after World War II are among the most rare posters there are! Apparently, there were still major paper shortages in Italy, and few posters were printed, and most were recycled. This is an extremely rare first release Italian poster from 1950. Also note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Italian movie! Also note that this Italian two-panel was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Finally, note that the theater that used this poster glued the pieces together before putting them on display (this is typical of many actual theater-used posters in multiple pieces). Note that it is difficult to accurately date Italian posters, and some unmarked re-release posters can be extremely difficult to distinguish from first releases, so please bear that in mind before you place a bid. We used our best information to date this poster, but we can't always guarantee that the Italian posters we sell are not from an unmarked re-release, but this will only prove to be true in a very tiny number of cases. Note that this Italian poster was NOT folded in half "an extra time", as some Italian posters are. This means it has fewer folds than those posters which are folded an extra time, but it also means that it must be sent in a larger flat package that measures approximately 15" x 23". Condition: fair. The theater that used this poster glued the pieces together before putting them on display (this is typical of many actual theater-used posters in multiple pieces).
