eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 8a092 DAWN TRAIL glass slide '30 Buck Jones gets the drop of bad guy coming through door! Date Sold 10/25/2009Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) The Dawn Trail, the 1930 Christy Cabanne Texas cowboy western ("A volcano of thrills! A tornado of action!"; "The screen's greatest outdoor star in a thrilling all action all dialog Western!"l "A thrilling breath-taking all talking western") starring Buck Jones, Miriam Seegar, Charles Morton, Margaret Livingston, Erville Alderson, and Hank Mann. Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good to fine. The glass slide itself is in nice condition and the cardboard holder has some minor smudges (as can be seen in our super-sized images). Learn More about condition grades
