An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Argentinean Movie Poster (measures 29 1/2" x 43 1/2" [75 x 110 cm]) (Learn More) Il Bidone (released in the U.S. in 1962 as "The Swindle"), the 1955 Federico Fellini Italian/French family relationship con man crime melodrama (about an aging con man who meets his grown daughter, and decides to try to make a lot of money with newly met crooks, so that he can provide for her education, but when he cuts out his partners and gives all the money to his daughter, he is brutally beaten) starring Broderick Crawford, Giulietta Masina, Richard Basehart, Franco Fabrizi, and Sue Ellen Blake. Note that this movie was made in Italy in 1955 and was released all over Europe over the next few years, but it did not receive a U.S. release at all, likely because of the very depressing nature of the movie. However, after Fellini's great success with "La Dolce Vita" in 1960, this movie was given a U.S. release in 1962. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. The poster has darkened somewhat and is brittle (as is typical of older Argentinean posters because of the type of paper they were printed on) and there is much tattering and some paper loss along the foldlines and edges with a few tape repairs on the back.
