An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 21 1/4" x 23 3/4" [54 x 60 cm]) (Learn More) The Prussian Cur: Revelations by Captain Horst von der Goltz self-confessed German Spy. Expose of Enemies at Home and the Invisible Embassy of Germany left behind in America by Ambassador von Bernstorff, the 1918 Raoul Walsh (billed as "R.A. Walsh") silent World War I (WWI) spy espionage melodrama ("Capt. Horst von der Golts. The Self confessed German spy and his cunning director Ambassador von Bernstorff, head of the Kaiser's spy system in America") starring Miriam Cooper, Sidney Mason, Horst von der Goltz, Leonora Stewart, and James A. Marcus. Note that World War I began in 1914, but the U.S. did not enter the war until April 1917. There are many theories on why this was, some of them very cynical about the U.S. wanting to continue to supply both sides. President Wilson was able to "overlook" many incidents, including the sinking of the Lusitania by the Germans, during which many Americans lost their lives, but finally, the U.S. DID enter the war in April 1917, and immediately, Hollywood made a series of anti-German movies, specifically focused on Kaiser Wilhelm, portraying him as pure evil, and this is one of those movies!
