An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) And George Did, the 1926 Scott Pembroke silent slapstick comedy short ("From the famous 'Let George Do It' cartoons by George McManus"; McManus was the cartoon genius who started "Bringing Up Father" in 1913; before that, he had drawn some other newspaper comic strips including a series of "Let George Do It" strips; in 1916, animated cartoons were adapted from "Bringing Up Father", but they were not very successful; in 1924, the Stern Brothers signed to do a series of live action adaptations of the "Let George Do It" cartoons, and they were very successful, spawning a long series, and two years later, there were live action "Bringing Up Father" movies; if anyone knows more about this series, please e-mail us and we will post it here) starring Syd Saylor (in the title role as George), Dorothy Gulliver, Colin Chase, and Madalynne Field NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. The poster had some scattered paper loss in the top quarter of the vertical foldline, but only very minor wear on the other folds and in the borders.
