Lou Reed was born in Brooklyn in 1942. He's most famous from the rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) band "The Velvet Underground" and as a cult songwriter. He worked with many different musicians including David Bowie, Nico, Metallica, and The Killers. Perhaps his best remembered songs are "Walk on the Wild Side" and "Sweet Jane". He passed away in 2013 at the age of 71.
