An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 5" x 7" [13 x 18 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) Captain Blood, the 1924 David Smith silent pirate swashbuckling romantic action adventure melodrama ("The greatest love story ever told"; based on the novel by Rafael Sabatini) starring J. Warren Kerrigan (in the title role as Captain Peter Blood), Jean Paige, Charlotte Merriam, James Morrison, and Allan Forrest. Note that this movie was remade in 1935 and Errol Flynn played the lead role, and it was a huge success. That caused this earlier silent version to be completely forgotten by everyone except for film buffs. Movie paper from this 1924 version is virtually non-existent! We have never sold any first release U.S. poster or lobby card (we did have a glass slide and a few stills), and we have never had any first release non-U.S. posters, except for a French poster!
