Gil (Gillette) Elvgren was an American pin-up artist and illustrator from the 1930s to 1980. His clients ranged from Brown and Bigelow and Coca-Cola to General Electric and Sealy Mattress Company. In addition, during the 1940s and 1950s he illustrated stories for a host of magazines, such as The Saturday Evening Post and Good Housekeeping. He is one of the most important pin-up and glamour artists of the twentieth century. He passed away in 1980 at the age of 66.
Artist: Gil Elvgren
Important Added Info: Note that in the days of fountain pens, people kept a blotter, which was a piece of cardboard on their desk to soak up excess ink. You can tell if a blotter has been used or not by whether or not it has ink on the back!
