Date Sold 1/22/2013Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original 1955 (from the first release of this movie in Argentina) Vintage Theatrical Folded Argentinean Movie Poster (measures 29" x 43" [74 x 109 cm]) (Learn More) The Black Shield of Falworth, the 1954 Rudolph Mate Universal medieval adventure thriller ("All the vast pageantry and towering excitement the thundering thrills of knighthood's epic age!"; "The epic story of Myles Falworth... who pledged his life to save a throne... and his love to win a fabulous beauty!"; "All the pageantry and excitement of Knighthood's epic age!"; based on the book 'Men of Iron' by Howard Pyle) starring Tony Curtis (as a knight with a Brooklyn accent!), Janet Leigh, David Farrar, Barbara Rush, Herbert Marshall, Torin Thatcher, Daniel O'Herlihy, and Rhys Williams. Note that there is a long-standing rumor that Curtis badly mangles the line "Yonder lies the castle of my father" as "Yonda lies the castle of my faddah." However, a collector tells us that line is not even in the film, but there is a similar line in Son of Ali Baba which was pronounced correctly. Also note that stars Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh had been married since 1951, three years before this movie was released. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Reynold Brown Condition: good. The poster is somewhat brittle (as is typical of older Argentinean posters because of the type of paper they were printed on) and there is tattering and small paper loss along the foldlines and edges. There are creases scattered throughout the poster. Learn More about condition grades
