An Autographed Postcard (measures 3 1/2" x 5 1/2") (Learn More) James Dean was the legendary actor who burst to fame in the mid-1950s with starring roles in East Of Eden (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Giant (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), and Rebel Without a Cause. He died in a tragic car wreck in 1955 at the age of 24 before Giant was released, but his fame remains undiminished to this day! Important Added Info: Note that this postcard has been personally autographed (signed) by James Dean! The postcard was sent by James Dean to his friend John Holden, who lived in Hollywood (see the image of the card). The card has a picture of Dean on one side and on the reverse, he wrote Holden's name and address, and a message to him that is signed "Jim". John Holden was a friend of Dean's, and Holden sold this card to our consignor directly. However, we don't have a letter of authenticity for this item, so we ask anyone bidding on it to thoroughly compare this signature to ones known to be signed by James Dean BEFORE placing a bid (but bear in mind that the buyer will have 30 days after the auction to get the signature authenticated, and they can return it for a full refund within that 30 days). Condition: fair to good. The card has many creases with two tears in the borders. The writing is slightly uneven, perhaps from slight fading.
