Artist: Bob Gleason Important Added Info: Note that this poster has a rating box with a blue/green background. When the movie was first released, posters were printed with a blue/green rating box. Shortly after (probably because the movie was a big hit), additional posters were printed with a black rating box. Most collectors consider both of these to be original release posters, but that the blue/green rating box ones are considered more desirable by many collectors! Also note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a light paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (it means that the poster must be handled carefully, as the backing does not give it much added strength, but it is similar to having an unrestored poster, and yet it has been properly preserved). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards. Note that because this poster was paperbacked onto a thin paper backing, it can be sent rolled (however, it will be rolled with the image outward, because paperbacked posters should always be rolled that way, while linen posters are always rolled with the image inward, but because this poster has already been rolled inward (see below), it will be sent in that same fashion). What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had fine surface paper loss on the horizontal folds. It was folded vertically slightly off center and it had creases and scuffs on that foldline. It had some creases and scuffs down the right side of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking. Someone paperbacked it, and then they rolled it inward instead of rolling it outward, which caused the horizontal folds to come back somewhat. Learn More about condition grades
