An Original Vintage Exhibitor Magazine (measures 9 1/4" x 12 1/4" [23 x 31 cm]; 12 pages) (Learn More) Some Like It Hot, the classic 1959 Billy Wilder (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) romantic musical cross-dressing drag crime comedy ("Hot!!!"; about two out of work musicians who happen to witness the St. Valentine's Day Massacre in Chicago, and they need to leave town in a hurry, but the only jobs they can get is with an all-girl band, and they dress in drag, and one of the band members is Marilyn Monroe!) starring Marilyn Monroe ("and her bosom companions"), Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), George Raft, Pat O'Brien, and Joe E. Brown (the great star of 1920s and 1930s slapstick comedy, who practically steals this movie with a wonderful comic performance and an unforgettable final line!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Saul Bass Important Added Info: Note that this is the December 7, 1959 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine, and we have only provided a picture of the front and back covers of the magazine, because the back cover has great Saul Bass trade ad (note the "Designed by Saul Bass") for "Some Like It Hot", but of course, the rest of the issue has much interesting information and ads for other movies of that time. It is fascinating that Saul Bass' ad (which has a credit "DESIGNED BY SAUL BASS & ASSOC." only shows the opening sequence of the movie with the police chasing the Hearse, and does not show anything to do with the top three stars! Finally, note that this is one of three lots that contain ultra rare exhibitor magazines with Saul Bass art ads. These magazines are exceptionally scarce, especially the ones that have ads with Saul Bass art! Condition: good. The pages of the magazine are separated at the spine, and they have some tiny tears and tiny paper loss around the edges, and they are fragile. Learn More about condition grades
