An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 9" x 13 3/4" [23 x 35 cm]; 12 pages). Also included is a herald that has 4 pages. (Learn More) The Honeymoon Killers, the classic 1970 Leonard Kastle romantic murder crime thriller ("Ray and Martha are in love. They're on a honeymoon. [The bride is in the trunk.]"; "Martha Beck and Raymond Fernandez, the notorious 'Honeymoon Killers' paid the supreme penalty in Sing Sing on March 8, 1951."; "Five lonely, lovelorn women!"; "Poisoned bludgeoned smothered drowned strangled unbelievable, but TRUE!"; "Ray kissed them, Martha killed them. They turned a Lonely Hearts Club into a slaughterhouse."; "No more lonely nights for two lucky people. AUNT CARRIE brought them together. She can do it for you too. This is the ad Martha Beck answered that led her to Raymond Fernandez that led them both to the electric chair as the notorious 'Honeymoon Killers'."; "You could have read it in the papers. Maybe you did. He was a cool cat... But cool. She was a fat chick... But fat. They were lovers who loved honeymoons. Other people's. From which the other people never returned."; about a husband and wife who pose as brother and sister and lure lonely men to their deaths through lonely heart ads; based on a chilling true story!) starring Shirley Stoler, Tony Lo Bianco, Mary Jane Higby, Kip McArdle, and Marilyn Chris. Note that this movie was released in early 1970, though some posters contain a 1969 NSS number (these posters also have AIP as the studio rather than Cinerama Releasing). We believe the reason for this is that AIP had the international distribution rights for this movie, but what is odd is that some AIP posters have ratings, and some do not, so perhaps AIP redistributed it in the U.S. If anyone knows the answer for sure, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that when studios would prepare pressbooks they would often include a sample of the herald. Most often, the herald is no longer still with the pressbook. Sometimes, the herald by itself will sell for almost as much as the rest of the entire pressbook! This pressbook contains the original herald that was included with it, and it is pictured next to the pressbook below. Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook, and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: very good to fine, NO CUTS. There is some minor wear around the edges. Learn More about condition grades
