An Original Vintage Autographed Movie Costume Drawing (measures 13" x 19" [33 x 48 cm]) (Learn More)

Doris Kenyon was an actress from the 1910s to the 1950s. She was one of the few silent stars who smoothly made the transition to sound movies (starring in Paramount's first sound picture), and later she successfully transitioned to older character actress, and continued acting for decades. She was married to silent star Milton Sills and had two children with him from 1926 until he passed away in 1930 (he was 15 years older than her, and he had a heart attack while playing tennis, aged just 48). Some of her movies include: Counsellor at Law, Monsieur Beaucaire and The Man in the Iron Mask. Kenyon passed away in 1979 at the age of 81.
Artist: Edward Stevenson
Important Added Info: Note that this costume drawing (which is a one of a kind original drawn by the costume designer for this movie) has been personally autographed (signed) by the artist, Edward Stevenson! The movie is not identified, but someone wrote "1932" at the top, and Miss Kenyon played in "Voltaire", released in 1933, so we think it is extremely likely this was done for that movie. Note that in February of 2023, we auctioned four similar costume drawings, from the same consignor, but all different movies. Those four auctioned for between $377 and $825, and we are currently auctioning five, in five separate auctions, that are similar in quality to those previous four!

Condition: good. Something was glued on top of the sketch in each corner, and it was removed, leaving surface paper in each corner, partially covering the signature of the artist, but not covering the art (see our image).
