Maniac, the 1980 William Lustig slasher horror gore thriller ("I warned you not to go out tonight"; "There is no explicit sex in this picture. However, there are scenes of violence which may be considered horrifying. No one under 17 will be admitted."; "Special Make-Up Effects by Tom Savini"; about a cretin who murders women and then scalps them so that he can dress up his mannequins) starring Joe Spinell, Caroline Munro, Gail Lawrence, Kelly Piper, Rita Montone, Tom Savini, Hyla Marrow, and James Brewster. Note that this film was released in an unrated version and later (but still during the first release) in an R-rated version.
