An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Italian One-Panel (known in Italy as a "2 Fogli") Movie Poster (1p; measures 39" x 55") (Learn More) The Lavender Hill Mob, the classic 1951 Charles Crichton English Ealing crime comedy ("Your biggest laugh in years!"; "Meet the Boss!") starring Alec Guinness (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; "versatile star of 'Kind Hearts and Coronets'"), Stanley Holloway, Sidney James, Alfie Bass, Marjorie Fielding, and Audrey Hepburn (referred to as a "lovely newcomer" in some of the original advertising, in her first real role as Chiquita, after two extremely minor roles) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Carlantonio Longi Condition: good. The poster had tiny areas of paper loss, small tears, and some stains scattered down the vertical foldline and down the left and right edges of the poster. There were pinholes and stains scattered in the top and bottom borders and a lesser amount of wear on the horizontal folds. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do much of any restoration to the defects described above. If I owned this cool poster, I would certainly have it removed from the old linen and properly re-backed, but some people might choose to display it as it is. Learn More about condition grades
