An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Yellow Submarine, the 1968 George Dunning English/U.S. rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) music psychedelic animated surrealism fantasy cartoon musical ("Nothing is real!"; "It's all in the mind y'know! - Paul McCartney"; "It's all in the mind y'know! - George Harrison"; "Eleven Beatle Songs"; "A dozen Beatle songs"; "The forces of Good!"; "The forces of Evil!"; "Based upon a song by John Lennon and Paul McCartney"; "From an original story by Lee Minoff") "starring Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", featuring the music of The Beatles (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr) and the voices of The Beatles, Paul Angelis, John Clive, and Dick Emery NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has never been folded, which is incredibly unusual for a 1968 one-sheet from a major studio. We don't know how this one escaped folding, but it is really remarkable! In 2016 we auctioned a different example of this poster that was the only other unfolded one we have ever auctioned, and that one was in "fair to good" condition and it still sold for $301! Note also that when this movie was intended to be first released, it was supposed to have twelve songs by The Beatles, and posters were printed up that said "A DOZEN BEATLE SONGS" in the green apple at bottom center and had cartoon artwork of The Beatles in wacky outfits playing instruments at lower left. But when the movie was actually released, one of the songs was cut, and the cartoon art at bottom left was removed, and the green apple was moved to that area, and it now read "ELEVEN BEATLE SONGS"! The poster offered here is the first version, with the "A DOZEN BEATLE SONGS" tagline! Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded (see above). It has some creases and faint smudges around the edges with light edge wear, and there are some creases and tears in the lower left blank border (see our image). It has some light horizontal creases (likely it was tightly rolled at one time, but they are not very noticeable or distracting at all when the poster is displayed). The unfolded poster is otherwise in nice condition and one could choose to display it as is, but after a simple linenbacking (fortunately the tears at lower left affect only blank paper) the very rare poster will look great!
