eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result v155 MAN BAIT title movie lobby card '52 best bad girl image, Diana Dors Date Sold 7/26/2005Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) The Last Page (released in the U.S. as "Man Bait"), the 1952 Terence Fisher English romantic crime bad girl film noir ("The Cards are Stacked... against any man who falls for her kind of Man Bait"; "Looking for a date?... Go easy! She's 'Man Bait'"; "Blonde Blackmail!"; "Look if you like... but Look Out! She's Man Bait"; "Screenplay by Frederick Knott from an original story by James Hadley Chase") starring George Brent, Marguerite Chapman, Diana Dors (billed as "introducing Diana Dors"), Raymond Huntley, and Peter Reynolds. Note that there are a couple of interesting oddities about this movie. One is that it was director Terence Fisher's very first movie (he would go on to become very famous for his Hammer horror movies). The other is that, for the American release, it says "introducing Diana Dors", but she had appeared in a dozen movies prior to this, so that was very misleading, to say the least. Finally, note that while this was an English movie, we have never auctioned anything from that English release (with the title "The Last Page"), so we list it under its American title, because it is far better known by that title. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that there are four pairs of staple holes in the top left corner. Two of the pairs are within the hair of the man at top left. There are a few pinholes and staple holes in the other borders. There is a faint partial vertical crease in the right of the card beginning under the "L" of "Look" and running down to the middle of the "M" in "MAN". There is a light scuff line that begins in the cheek of the green girl at top left and runs down into the lower part of the credits box. The above are the sort of defects that can be greatly improved by a professional restorer without putting much paint anywhere on the card, and I think it is also quite possible that many collectors could display this great card just as it is, as its defects are not very distracting! Condition: good. Learn More about condition grades
