An Unfolded French Travel Poster (measures 25 1/4" x 39 1/2" [64 x 100 cm]) (Learn More)

French National Railroads (Societe Nationale Des Chemins De Fer Francais or S.N.C.F.), the French travel poster ("For traveling in France the railway is the right way"; "Visit France by train"; "Discover France by train") made by the S.N.C.F to encourage travel by the French National Railroad. Each poster features a wonderful image or art of one of the many locations that the railroad visits. The SNCF was founded in 1938 with the nationalization of France's main railway companies.

UPDATED 12/15/2017: Note that we have updated the date of the poster and provided additional details in the Description.

Condition: fair. There is light rippling and slight discoloration scattered in portions of the poster due to exposure to moisture. There are several tears with some paper loss at lower center (see our image). The poster is in urgent need of restoration, and certainly a competent restorer could repair the defects described above, but please bear in mind the cost of restoration before placing a bid.
