A lot of 7 mostly 1950s die-cut standees. Note that this is one of four groups of mostly 1950s standees we were consigned. Just about every one of them is "die-cut", meaning that they are cut around the edges to the shape of the image. Around eight years ago we were consigned around 100 similar standees to these, and we auctioned the better titles individually and the lesser titles in bulk lots. Those came from a theater owner who received them when he showed the movies! Now we are auctioning his remaining similar standees, and there are four bulk lots of them in this set of auctions, and the remainder will be auctioned in our next few bulk lots auctions, and then there will be no more! Most of these were once of each title, and it is quite likely that very few others survive other than the ones from this "find". Most of these were stored in a basement and many are quite musty and have other condition issues. These are unlike later standees. They were created directly on to corrugated cardboard and each had two circular pieces of cardboard attached to the back of the standee that once had a string between them (this is how the standees were originally made). On some of these, the circular cardboards or strings are no longer present, pretty usual for standees of this age. We are guessing that you were supposed to lean the standee against a pole and tie the strings from the circles around the pole, but that is just a guess! Please look closely at our super-sized images to get a sense of the condition of these. Of course they can be restored, or left as they are, but bear this in mind before bidding. Also, note these standees need to be sent in a very large flat package that measures approximately 34" x 34", which will be expensive in the U.S. and prohibitively expensive outside the U.S., so also bear this in mind before bidding.
Measurements: each measures approximately 33" x 60"

Condition: fair to good. As noted above, these were poorly stored and are musty, with smudges, scuffs and stains scattered throughout and some surface and border wear. Obviously one would prefer to find these in better condition, but they are likely mostly one of a kind, so please do not bid unless you can accept their defects or are willing to have them restored.
