An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Herbert Brenon's Girl of the Rio, the 1932 Herbert Brenon south-of-the-border romantic love triangle comedy ("He... the bes' caballero in all Mexico... flouted... scorned... tricked... subdued... by a girl!"; "From Willard Mack's story 'The Dove'"; based on the Broadway play by Willard Mack "The Dove" and the story by Gerald Beaumont "The Blue Ribbon"; about a pretty cabaret dancer in Mexico who falls for an American, and her boss, who is in love with her as well, gets the American put in prison, but she convinces him to let him go, which he nobly does) starring Dolores Del Rio, Leo Carrillo, Norman Foster, Ralph Ince, and Lucile Gleason. Note that this movie was re-made in 1939 under the title of "The Girl and the Gambler", and Leo Carrillo played the same role in that re-make! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good to fine. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the playdates section at the bottom of the glass. Otherwise, the glass slide itself is in nice condition and the cardboard holder has some minor smudges (as can be seen in our super-sized images). Learn More about condition grades
