The firm's innovations include two essential parts of the modern industry, the gasoline tanker truck and the drive-through filling station. British Petroleum merged with the company in 1998, and after converting several stations to BP, relaunched the name in 2017. Artist: Lucien Bernhard Important Added Info: Note that this poster is a 1948 advertising poster for Amoco with great Lucien Bernhard art that was displayed in gas stations or places that sold Amoco products. We have never auctioned it before. Condition: good to very good. There are tiny bits of paper loss arranged vertically above, in and below the "E" of "TIRES" (see our image). There is a 10" tear in the upper border with paper loss at the top of the tear. There is small paper loss in each blank corner and some tiny bits of paper loss in the rest of the borders. Someone put conservation tape on the back of the tear in the top border. After a simple linenbacking, the poster will look fantastic and require the tiniest of paint restoration.
