She made a massive impact in movies in the 1950s with her roles in Member Of The Wedding (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film) and East of Eden (as Abra), but then she mostly deserted Hollywood for the New York stage, where she was nominated for ten Tony Awards, and won five, and she continued to make a few movies, such as The Haunting, and she also frequently appeared on TV, including on TV's "Knots Landing". She passed away in 2013 at the age of 87. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Julie Harris! It is a long 2-page hand typed letter in reply to author Scott Nollen, who was writing a book about Boris Karloff, and he asked her for her memories of working with Karloff in The Lark, and it is filled with great content, talking about how much she admired him and describing an incident where she got hurt and he expressed much concern for her. She says that he "was so supportive" and that he "always had great warmth", but also had "that strange melancholy". It is certainly a certainty that Miss Harris hand wrote the entire letter herself and that she signed it herself. She also gives her home phone number, but we are sure that is no longer good!
