The character first appeared as the gadget-wielding crime fighter The Cat in 1972. After a year's absence, she was revamped as the superpowered, part-animal Tigra in 1974. Tigra went on to guest star throughout the Marvel line, often appearing in issues of the superhero-team comic The Avengers.
