An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) The Black Scorpion, the 1957 Edward Ludwig Mexico City giant scorpion science fiction (sci-fi) horror thriller ("We defy you not to get a genuine case of the horrors when you see 'The Black Scorpion'"; "Black -- so you can't see him until he's ready to get you! Bloodless -- That's why he wants yours!"; "Uncut! Shown exactly as filmed!"; "Don't be ashamed to scream! It helps relieve the tension!"; "We urge you not to panic or bolt from your seats!"; "Every horror you've seen on the screen grows pale beside the horror of 'The Black Scorpion'"; "He'll get you - scared stiff!"; "NOTE: The management reserves the right to put up the lights any time the audience becomes too emotionally disturbed!"; "Shown Uncut! Every terror exactly as filmed"; "Don't be afraid to scream! It helps relieve the tension!"; "Story by Paul Yawitz"; special effects by Willis O'Brien in his last credited film) starring Richard Denning, Mara Corday, Carlos Rivas, Mario Navarro, and Carlos Muzquiz. Note that (apparently to save money!) the movie is set in Mexico City, which allowed the producers to hire an almost completely Mexican cast, no doubt at far lower salaries than that of their Hollywood counterparts! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still appears in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the still was printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that it WAS printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So it is an original still from 1957, but it was printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: very good. There are some minor creases around the edges, but they are mostly only noticeable when the still is tilted to the light. Learn More about condition grades
