An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More) Taxi Driver, the classic 1976 Martin Scorsese New York City descent-into-schizophrenia mental illness crime murder melodrama ("On every street in every city in this country there's a nobody who dreams of being a somebody."; "He's a lonely forgotten man desperate to prove that he's alive."; "Written by Paul Schrader"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Robert De Niro (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; as Travis Bickle), Jodie Foster (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Albert Brooks ("as Tom"; in his first movie role!), Harvey Keitel, Leonard Harris, Peter Boyle ("as 'Wizard'"), Cybill Shepherd ("as 'Betsy'"), Martin Scorsese, Joe Spinell, and Richard Higgs NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "reviews" style poster for this movie. Many collectors prefer "regular" style posters to "reviews" styles, because the reviews style posters usually have far less art. However, this is a very unusual poster! It is an oddity that the two regular style one-sheets for "Taxi Driver" are both frequently offered for sale, and yet in all the years I have sold posters, I have never previously seen or heard of this poster offered here! Given that it is unfolded, I wonder if this particular style was distributed very much at all, for it seems quite odd that it "never" is offered. I would think it would be a "must" for a Robert De Niro or Scorsese fan, especially since it is interesting to note that major critics were uniformly in agreement that this was a wonderful movie right when it came out, rare for legendary movies. Also note that this poster was never machine folded. Most movie posters from before 1980 were machine folded immediately after printing, but a very few were left unfolded. An unfolded poster from before 1980 is almost always far more difficult to find than a folded poster of the same title, and finding unfolded posters in excellent condition is even more difficult! Condition: fine. there are light horizontal "waves" every few inches throughout the poster, because the poster was stored in a tube for many years; they are barely noticeable, and if the poster were stored under weight for a long time, they would disappear completely; otherwise, the poster is in wonderful condition!
