Date Sold 8/6/2013Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Autographed Promotional Card (measures 5" x 7") (Learn More) Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, the 1982 Nicholas Meyer science fiction (sci-fi) outer space adventure sequel ("At the end of the universe lies the beginning of vengeance."; "Based on Star Trek Created by Gene Roddenberry") starring William Shatner (as Captain James T. Kirk), Leonard Nimoy (as Spock), DeForest Kelley (as McCoy), James Doohan (as Scotty), Walter Koenig (as Chekov), George Takei (as Sulu), Nichelle Nichols (as Uhura), Bibi Besch, Paul Winfield ("as Terrell"), Kirstie Alley (billed as "introducing Kirstie Alley as Savvik"), and Ricardo Montalban (in the title role; billed as "starring Ricardo Montalban as Khan"). Note that the Star Trek TV show went off the air in 1969, with a cult following, but without a lot of general success. But there was enough interest built up over the following years that Star Trek: The Motion Picture was made in 1979. While the movie did well at the box office, it was not critically well received, and it looked like that might have been the end of the franchise, but then Nicholas Meyer wrote and directed this sequel, which was a giant critical and commercial success, and led to all the many sequels and spin-offs in the years since! Note that this item comes with a "certificate of authenticity" from Daniel Cohen Autographs & Memorabilia. Note that this autographed item (and many others in this set of auctions, all of which have this same paragraph on them) come from the collection of a man who recently passed away. He was confined to a wheelchair, but that did not stop him from attending all of the major collectible shows in the Northeast, including the Chiller Conventions! He would obtain many signed items from the celebrities in attendance (they sometimes personalized the autographs to him, and his name was "Jimmy"), and he also purchased a few signed items from celebrities through the mail. In the case of the items purchased through the mail, he would usually also get a "certificate of authenticity". Our consignor (and we) believe that all of the signed items from this collection have authentic signatures. Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
