12 Original Vintage Theatrical English Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 10 3/4" x 15" [27 x 38 cm]) (Learn More)

Gimme Shelter, the 1971 Charlotte Zwerin, Albert Maysles, & David Maysles rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) music concert documentary ("The music that thrilled the world... and the killing that stunned it!"; "The fantastic Rolling Stones concert at Altamont, California where 300,000 young Americans went wild."; "Altamont changed a lot of people's heads") featuring The Rolling Stones, Jefferson Airplane, Ike and Tina Turner, The Grateful Dead, and Dick Carter. This is the movie that covered the Altamont concert where the Hell's Angels were invited to be in charge of security. They were responsible for the brutal beating and stabbing death of Meredith Hunter, an 18 year old black African American man. There were also three accidental deaths. The movie shows performances, violence, Grace Slick and Mick Jagger's attempts to cool things down, close-ups of young listeners (dancing, drugged, or suffering Angel shock), and a look at the Stones later as they watch concert footage and reflect on what happened.

Important Added Info: Note that these measure 10 3/4" x 15" [27 x 38 cm] and they are somewhat of a mystery as to their country of origin. We have auctioned a set that was completely in English in 2002 (as are these 12 cards) and we have auctioned a set that is similar color and images but was completely in French but we are unsure of exactly what country they are from (possibly Swiss). They have great images, but please do not bid if you are bothered by the uncertainty as to their country of origin. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: very good. The cards have some light edge wear and just a few light creases scattered in various areas but overall they are in nice condition!
