Date Sold 4/1/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. A Linenbacked Advertising Poster (measures 28 1/4" x 41 1/2" [72 x 105 cm]) (Learn More) Ritz Crackers are a brand of snack cracker introduced by Nabisco in 1934. Nabisco was looking to compete with a cracker made by their competitor, Sunshine Biscuits, and they tasked an employee, Sydney Stern, to create a name and advertising plan. Inspired by a hat, Stern created the name Ritz, which appealed to individuals suffering in the Great Depression, offering them "a bite of the good life". If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was never folded. It had a 10" tear near the middle of the left border, extending through the hat and to the edge of the man's ear. Otherwise, the poster was in nice condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
