If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. The modern version of the circus started in 1919 when the Barnum & Bailey's Greatest Show on Earth, a circus created by P. T. Barnum and James Anthony Bailey, was merged with the Ringling Bros. World's Greatest Shows. With weakening attendance and high operating costs, the circus closed on May 21st, 2017 after 146 years. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been laminated! It is quite likely that there is no way to reverse this process. However, I have seen many posters and lobby cards that have been laminated for over 20 years, and the lamination does not hurt the items in any way (and some of the posters were laminated as much as 40 years ago, so it certainly seems that if it were going to damage the item, it would have happened by now!), plus it seems to completely protect them, while allowing them to be easily displayed with no fear of damage. HOWEVER, PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THIS POSTER UNLESS YOU WANT TO PURCHASE A LAMINATED ITEM! Also note that this poster contains a facsimile signature at lower right. Please do not bid thinking it is a real autograph as it is in the printing! Finally, note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster has been laminated . Prior to lamination the poster had some pairs of staple holes around the edges and area of foldline separation at the ends of the foldlines. Learn More about condition grades
