Barbour (with introduction by Linda Stirling) illustrated book detailing the history of the Hollywood serial and the cast and crew that made them possible. Alan G. Barbour was an early movie paper historian of movies, especially serials and horror/sci-fi/fantasy, and he published magazines in the 1960s and 1970s that were mostly pictures of movie stills and sometimes posters and lobby cards from classic films, which in those pre-Internet days were incredibly hard to find or view in any way! This was his "magnum opus", a hardcover with hundreds of lavishly illustrated pages about movie serials.
