Date Sold 1/19/2023Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Unfolded Railroad Poster (measures 16" x 23" [41 x 58 cm]) (Learn More) Southern Pacific: Play In the Snow, the 1930s (possibly 1936) train railway railroad travel poster ("Next time, try the train to winter playgrounds"; "Convenient service low fares") encouraging people to use the Southern Pacific railroad when going on winter vacations. Note that this poster features artwork of a man holding skis and a woman holding a snowball with skiers on a slope in the background. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Also note that this is one of 11 wonderful travel and skiing related posters that were recently discovered in Canada after having sat undisturbed for many decades! We had only auctioned ONE of these posters one time before and the other 10 we had NEVER auctioned! All would benefit from restoration, but most are the kind that do not need a lot of restoration, and after being backed they will display wonderfully (and it is quite possible it will be many years before we again auction even one of these!). Condition: good. The poster was never folded but it was roughly handled while it was rolled so it now has a number of horizontal creases and some vertical creases scattered throughout. After being properly linenbacked it would display really well. Learn More about condition grades
