An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More)

The Far Call, the 1929 Allan Dwan Arctic Circle Bering Sea seal poaching romantic adventure melodrama ("Life and adventure at the top of the world"; "Story by Edison Marshall"; about the daughter of the governor of the territory who falls in love with a seal poacher, and he reforms for her, and stops his henchmen from continuing to poach seals, and he becomes a hero) starring Charles Morton, Leila Hyams, Warren Hymer, Arthur Stone, Warner Baxter, and Dan Wolheim. Note that Warner Baxter was born in 1889, and in the early 1920s he rose to prominence in silent movies, becoming a major star of the 1920s, while he was in his 30s. He won the Oscar for Best Actor as The Cisco Kid in "In Old Arizona" in 1929, and he remained a top star throughout the 1930s!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds, creases and tiny paper loss in the left half of the top foldline, and tiny surface paper loss in the right of the top foldline. There were extra creases above and below the bottom horizontal fold and minor wear on the other folds. There were pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but the restorer left alone the tiny surface paper loss in the right of the top foldline (either that, or the damage was sustained after the poster was backed). In either case, any restorer could touch up that area without re-backing the poster.
