An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More)

The Kid From Cleveland, the 1949 Herbert Kline Ohio baseball sports melodrama ("the story of... a kid... a city... and 30 godfathers!"; "Story by Herbert Kline and John Bright"; about a kid with trouble at home who runs away to stay with the Cleveland Indians, who actually play themselves!) starring George Brent, Lynn Bari, Russ Tamblyn (billed as "introducing Rusty Tamblyn and his 30 godfathers"; in his first credited movie role!), and the entire roster of the 1949 Cleveland Indians, 30 in all (who appeared as themselves; this included manager Bill Veeck, Hank Greenberg, Bob Feller, Satchel Paige [legendary black African American pitcher who played this one year with the Cleveland Indians at the age of 43], Larry Doby, Bob Lemon, and a host of other baseball greats!), Tommy Cook, Ann Doran, and Louis Jean Heydt. One of those other baseball players in the movie was Gene Bearden, who was the real life baseball World Series hero from the 1949 Cleveland Indians, and also was Rookie of the Year. He played himself in this movie (and in "The Stratton Story" made the same year).
