She specialized in playing strong leading ladies who often did not need men in their lives, and she certainly helped inspire the feminist movement! Her first movie was "Paris Bound" in 1929. Some of her other movies include: It Happened on 5th Avenue, The Magnificent Yankee, When Ladies Meet, Christmas Eve, The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit, and Holiday (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film). She passed away in 1981 at the age of 79 AND William Dietz was a cinematographer, electrician, and cameraman from the 1920s to the 1930s. Some of his movies include: Border Devils, Paris Bound, and Fisherman's Wharf. He passed away in 1948 at the age of 43 when he was lost at sea while working on a ferry.
