eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result #157 MANHATTAN HEARTBEAT 1sh '40 Sterling Date Sold 1/15/2002Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded One-Sheet (27" x 41") (Learn More) Manhattan Heartbeat, the 1940 David Burton New York City romantic making-ends-meet melodrama ("'The breaks are all against kids like us! --How can we get married... on nothing a week?'"; "From a play by Vina Delmar & Brian Marlowe"; "Based upon a novel by Vina Delmar") starring Robert Sterling, Virginia Gilmore, Joan Davis, Edmund MacDonald, Don Beddoe and Paul Harvey NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This poster was never folded after it was printed (this is called unfolded or "rolled")! THIS POSTER IS A REAL ODDITY! I have seen many posters from minor studios from the 1930s and 1940s that were completely unfolded, but before this poster (and the two others like it we are currently selling) I had only seen one unfolded poster from a major studio (and that was the incredible one-sheet from "The Devil is a Woman" which sold for over $50,000!). I can't explain how or why these three 20th Century Fox posters survived completely unfolded, but I would imagine someone who worked at the printer took them straight off the press! Condition: very good. There is a light horizontal crease across the center of the poster. There is a 1 1/2" tear in the lower right blank border (slightly extending into the image background). There is smudging, a few minor creases, and several very tiny tears in Learn More about condition grades
